Pokémon 30th Celebration (Sept 16): What We Know & How to Get It at MSRP
The Pokémon TCG turns 30 this year, and Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration releases worldwide on September 16, 2026 — the first set in the game's history to launch everywhere on the same day. If the 25th Anniversary Celebrations set taught us anything, this will be the most fought-over product of the year.
What's confirmed so far (June 2026)
- Every card is foil — including basic Energy.
- A brand-new "Futuristic Rare" rarity debuts, opening with Mewtwo and Mew illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN.
- 30 different Pikachu cards — every booster pack is guaranteed to contain one.
- Classic reprints headlined by the Base Set Charizard, plus beloved cards like Pikachu & Zekrom GX from Team Up.
Why it will sell out
The 25th Anniversary set sold out instantly in 2021 and never really came back at MSRP. 30th Celebration has the same recipe — anniversary framing, guaranteed chase pulls, nostalgia reprints — plus five more years of collectors. Expect preorders to vanish within hours of going live at each store.
The plan: how to actually get it at MSRP
- Don't pay scalper preorder prices. When hype products list early at 2–3× MSRP, patience usually wins — allocations spread across dozens of stores, not just the big ones.
- Watch the specialist stores, not just the giants. The big-box sites get camped. The dozens of smaller TCG shops we track often list allocations quietly. Keep an eye on the [sealed product database](/sealed?q=30th) — listings will appear there the moment any store we track posts one.
- Check the [Drops & restocks hub](/restock) — every new and upcoming release shows the cheapest live preorder across every store in your country, updated daily.
- Compare before you click buy. Launch-window prices vary wildly between stores for identical product. Thirty seconds on a compare page routinely saves $20–50 on an ETB.
We'll keep this updated as products and preorder dates are confirmed. Set your country (top of the page) and the prices you see will be from stores that actually ship to you.
